Terms of service
These terms apply to the Kirjaviisas service ("service") provided by Unattended Oy (business ID 3622216-6), Hiomotie 10, 00380 Helsinki, Finland. By using the service you accept these terms.
1. About the service
Kirjaviisas is a monthly subscription that sends you three hand-picked second-hand books each month, based on the themes you choose. We keep a record of every title we've sent you so you never receive the same book twice.
2. Account and age
Using the service requires an account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a guardian's consent. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your credentials safe.
3. Subscription, pricing and billing
Prices are shown in the service and include Finnish VAT. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. We charge your payment card before each monthly shipment. Payments are processed by Stripe.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time from your account page - no forms, no phone calls. Cancellation takes effect from the next billing date; already-charged months are not refunded. The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to books that have already been delivered to you (Finnish Consumer Protection Act, Chapter 6, Section 16).
5. Delivery
We ship packages within Finland via Posti to the address you provide. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, contact our support - we'll sort it out with Posti and reship or refund.
6. Gift cards
Gift cards are valid for 12 months from purchase. Unused gift cards are not redeemable for cash. The recipient redeems a gift card by creating an account and entering the gift code.
7. Content and liability
We do our best to pick books that match your themes, but we can't guarantee every book matches your taste perfectly. The service is provided "as is". Our liability is limited to the minimum required by mandatory consumer protection law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll email you about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't accept the changes, you can cancel your subscription before they take effect.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Finnish law. We aim to resolve disputes by negotiation first. As a consumer, you may bring a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) or to the District Court of Helsinki.
